10 New Trains: The Chief Minister of Maharashtra is continuously striving to elevate the state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the approval of additional suburban train services on the Uran route on Friday. He described this as a special gift for Mumbaikars. Sharing the letter issued by the Railway Ministry on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote, “This is a special gift for Mumbaikars.”
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for responding to his request to introduce additional local train services, such as Nerul-Uran-Nerul (4 trips) and Belapur-Uran-Belapur (6 trips). He also wrote, “I am grateful for the approval of stoppages at Targhar and Gavhan, which will greatly benefit passengers and make the daily commute of Mumbaikars much easier.”
According to an official notification issued by the Railway Board on December 3, 2025, a total of 10 new suburban services have been approved on the Port Line route. These include four services for the Nerul-Uran-Nerul route, and six for the Belapur-Uran-Belapur route. He added that the Railway Board has also approved stoppages at Targhar and Gavhan stations for the Port Line suburban services. This is expected to provide much-needed relief to commuters in the rapidly developing residential and industrial areas along the Uran corridor, who currently rely on road transport for last-mile travel.

Once operational, people can travel from one place to another in less time, and the number of vehicles on the roads will also be reduced. The public has been demanding this for a long time, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, understanding their problems, have ordered its implementation. I express my gratitude on behalf of the public for this. Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the additional services and new stoppages will ease congestion, reduce waiting times, and improve overall travel convenience for the thousands of passengers travelling between Navi Mumbai and Uran.
