One of world’s famous sports car companies Porsche has launched the 911 GT3 in India at Rs 2.2 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The GT3 joins the list of four dozen models, including their variants that the German company retails in India. The GT3 comes powered by a four- litre, six-cylinder engine that develops peak power of 500hp.
It can do from 0-100kms/hr in 3.4 seconds and has a top whack of 318km/hr. The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox with an option of a manual overdrive. Like all other Porsches the GT3 too will be fully imported into India from Germany.
The GT3 will be up against the Nissan GT-R (Rs 2.08 crore), Maserati Gran Cabrio (Rs 2.06 crore), Mercedes AMG GT-R (Rs 2.19 crore), Mercedes AMG GT S (Rs 2.25 crore), Audi R8 (Rs 2.60 crore), Jaguar F-Type Coupe R (Rs 2.6 crore).
The GT3 comes with side impact protection elements in the doors and two side airbags on each side, an integral thorax airbag in each seat side bolster and an upward-inflating head airbag incorporated within each door.
Its instrument cluster comes with a 4.6 inch colour screen that provides a continuous stream of data from the on-board computer like average speed, fuel consumption, fuel range and outside temperature.
