BSNL has been quite aggressive in recent months with its recharge plans. The government-led telecom operator has been actively trying to retain its customers through new recharge packs with substantial benefits. The company has been competing with Reliance Jio and Airtel with regards to annual plans lately. Now, BSNL is aiming for consumers who are interested in extending their plan’s validity with a new recharge pack.

The new plan comes for Rs 599 and is an effort by BSNL to give its customers more options than before. The new plan is simply a validity extender plan that consumers can opt for if they want to extend the validity of their current plan. Upon recharging with this plan, a customer will see the extension of the validity of the plan by up to 180 days (6 months). The Rs 599 plan will also bring in some other benefits with regards to calls. Consumers can avail unlimited local and STD calls with this plan. Roaming calls are also exempt from any charges under this plan.

However, the Rs 599 plan doesn’t offer any kind of benefit in terms of data. Also, the plan is only restricted to two circles for now – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Other circles don’t get the Rs 599 plan yet. This plan is only meant for prepaid users as well. Compared to plans from rival operators such as Jio and Airtel, BSNL is offering more validity but subscribers will lose out in terms of data benefits.

In comparison, Reliance Jio is offering a lot of benefits with its plans. The closest plan to what BSNL is offering comes for Rs 498. This plan offers validity of up to 91 days and comes with 182GB of unlimited data, which means users can use 2GB of data per day for a period of three months. Additionally, consumers can also avail other benefits such as free calls, video calls and messages. If you don’t want that much data, you can also get the Rs 399 pack that offers validity of 84 days and 1.5GB of data per day.

Similarly, Airtel and Vodafone also offer interesting validity plans. Airtel’s Rs 448 plan offers a validity of 84 days and clubs free calls, 100 free messages per day as well as 1.5GB of 3G/4G data per day. Vodafone’s Rs 509 plan offers up to 90 days of validity, 1.5GB 3G/4G data per day and unlimited calls as well as 100 free messages per day.
