According to the statement of the Ministry of Labor, “The lockdown has been announced in various parts of the country due to the corona virus epidemic. In order to ensure that the pensioners do not have any problem in the present situation, the Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC) has asked 120 Regional Offices of EPFO ​​to match and generate the details of pensioners and pension amount by 25 March 2020.

CPFC has also said that pension should be sent to banks in advance so that monthly pension of pensioners can be paid on time.



EPFO operates the Employees Provident Fund and Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme in addition to EPS. The number of its shareholders is more than 6 crore who get the benefit of provident fund, group insurance and pension.
