The Arunachal Pradesh government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners by 3 percentage points. It has now increased from 55% to 58%, effective July 1, 2025.
3% DA increased: Recently, the central government increased the dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees. Now, states, both large and small, are also taking decisions on allowances. In this regard, the Arunachal Pradesh government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners by 3 percent. What did the Chief Minister say?
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, while announcing this increase, stated that arrears from July to September 2025 will also be paid, while the revised DA and DR will be included in the salary and pension for the month of October. Chief Minister Khandu wrote on social media, “This decision reflects our government’s strong commitment to employee welfare. We want to ensure that every member of our workforce and retired community feels respected and empowered. This is the second increase in DA and DR for employees this year.”
Previously, in May 2025, the state government had increased DA and DR from 53% to 55%. With this new increase, the allowances of Arunachal Pradesh employees have now reached the same level as central government employees. Over 75,000 regular government employees, pensioners, and AIS officers in the state will benefit from this decision.
