In a video going viral on social media, Hakim Babar says that his marriage is both an arranged marriage and a love marriage. “First, we fell in love with each other, my wife fell in love with me, and then we formalized it with Nikah.” In another video, he says that age is just a number. One should remain young at heart. “She (his wife) was divorced, and this is the command of Allah and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). If I followed it, what wrong did I do?” His long white beard clearly testifies to the decades-long age difference between the couple.

He further said, “I haven’t committed adultery, so why are people making negative comments? In fact, those who criticize us are often the same people who have had extramarital affairs or mistresses, but they shy away from marriage. They manipulate and deceive women.” Hakim Babar’s wife echoed his views, saying that age doesn’t matter when it comes to true love, and that once you find someone you truly care about, marriage shouldn’t be delayed.
