7th Pay Commission latest update: Big gift to railway employees, decision on night duty allowance

7th Pay Commission latest update: There is a relief news for railway employees. Railways have changed the rules of Allowance for employees doing night duty. The case is for not giving night allowance to employees with basic salary of Rs 43,600. There was a discussion that if such employees have got night allowance, then that money will be recovered from the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.

The Railway Department has currently banned Rivakari and has sent a letter to the Department of Personal and Training (DOPT) to ban Rivakari. The letter says that for all employees who do night duty under different circumstances, there should be a system of night allowance. Please tell that railway employee unions raised this issue with the ministry with great emphasis.

Anup Sharma, general secretary of the Delhi Division of Northern Railway, told the media that the railway has currently banned the review of Night Allowance. Various railway unions had demanded from the Ministry of Railways that if night allowance is not given to the workers, they should not be called for night duty.

Please tell here that some changes have also been made in the rules for calculation of night duty allowance. These changes have also been implemented with immediate effect. According to the formula prepared for the new calculation of night duty allowance, the allowance will be decided on the basis of basic salary + DA / 200. This formula will be applicable in all government departments and ministries.

A major change has been made in whatever employees will do night duty. Their days will be calculated based on the report of the supervisor. Meaning, how many days a worker does night duty, his certificate has to be taken from the supervisor. All Grade A employees will get the same night duty allowance. Allowance will be given only when the employee works between 10 to 6 in the night.
