8th Pay Commission: How much will be the Fitment Factor?

Fitment Factor is the biggest tool. In all the pay commissions so far, salaries have been decided on this basis. This is the most important part of the recommendations of the Pay Commission. Fitment is used to multiply the existing Basic Pay, from which the new salary structure is calculated. In the previous pay commissions, the Fitment Factor was something like this.

8th Pay Commission: How much can the salary increase?

If the normal situation is considered, then 18% salary hike can be recommended in 8th CPC. At the same time, during this time the dearness allowance can reach up to 61%. But, it is important to note here that when the new pay commission comes into force, the dearness allowance will be zeroed and merged into the basic salary. And its calculation will start again from 0.

Will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented in 2026?

The central government has not yet constituted the 8th Pay Commission. According to sources, it will be constituted from April 1, 2025 and will start its work. At the same time, it is estimated that the 8th CPC can be implemented from January 2026. However, it will depend on the recommendations of the Pay Commission as to when they submit it and later when it gets approval from the government. Also, an allocation can also be made for this in the budget of the year 2026.
