8th pay commission latest news: If you are waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, then this news is useful for you. Actually, information has been given in the Rajya Sabha by the government regarding the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, in response to a question asked by two Rajya Sabha MPs – Ramji Lal Suman and Javed Ali Khan, said that the government has received representations regarding the formation of the Pay Commission.

What did the Minister of State for Finance say

Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, “Two representations have been received for the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission in June 2024. At present no such proposal is under consideration of the government.”

Formed every 10 years

The Pay Commission is constituted every 10 years by the Central Government to revise the remuneration or salary and allowances of government employees. The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in February 2014. Its recommendations were implemented from 1 January 2016. Let us tell you that the Pay Commission is a government-appointed body in India which is responsible for reviewing and recommending changes in the salary structure, allowances and other benefits of central government employees.

Waiting for dearness allowance

According to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the central government employees are waiting for the dearness allowance (DA) for the second half of the year. The allowance for the second half i.e. from July to December is likely to increase by 4 percent. If this happens, the allowance of central employees will increase to 54 percent. Let us tell you that at present the allowance of central employees is 50 percent. This increase is likely to be announced in September or October. According to the pattern so far, the decision on the allowance for the second half is taken by Navratri.
