The Railway Board has allowed railway employees to travel in Tejas, Vande Bharat, Duronto and Humsafar Express trains under the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) scheme. Railway unions were demanding this for the past several years. With this facility, thousands of railway employees will be able to enjoy traveling in comfortable and high-speed trains with their families during holidays.
For the past several years, railway unions were demanding from the government for their members to travel in Tejas, Vande Bharat, Duronto and Humsafar trains under the LTC scheme. Till now, railway employees had the right to travel on passes or duty passes in trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi on the basis of eligibility. Now, under the new order, the Railway Board has allowed travel in Tejas, Vande Bharat, Duronto and Humsafar trains under the LTC scheme.
Apart from the railways, central government employees also get ticket cost for to and fro journey under the LTC scheme as per their rank and salary. Some premium trains like Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi were already included under this scheme, but the recently launched Tejas and Vande Bharat trains were out of the purview of this scheme. Railway worker Prakash Singh associated with the railway union says that now children will enjoy travelling in premium trains like Vande Bharat, Duronto, Tejas, Humsafar. Travelling in these trains will be enjoyable for holiday travel.
