UP Board 2026: An important update has arrived for millions of students enrolled in the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board). The UP Board has released the official schedule for the 2026 Intermediate (12th) practical examinations. The board will conduct these examinations in two phases to ensure smooth and systematic evaluation across all divisions. This decision will not only provide students and teachers with the opportunity to prepare in advance but also streamline the examination system.

Exams to be held in two phases, the first starting January 24, 2026

The first phase of Intermediate practical examinations will be conducted from January 24, 2026, to February 1, 2026. This phase covers 10 divisions of the state, including Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Devipatan, and Basti. However, practical examinations will not be conducted on January 29 and January 30, 2026, during this period. This is because the UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) written exam will be held on these two days. Due to the UPTET exam, many schools in the state will be on academic holidays, which has led to the decision to postpone practical exams on these dates.

Eight divisions included in the second phase

The second phase of intermediate practical examinations will be conducted between February 2, 2026, and February 9, 2026. Eight divisions of the state have been included in this phase. These practical examinations will be conducted in schools in Aligarh, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur divisions. The Board’s aim is to ensure uniform evaluation across all divisions and to ensure that no student faces any inconvenience.

UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh Provides Information

UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh issued an official release regarding this matter. He clarified that practical exams will be conducted as scheduled, and schools have been instructed to complete all necessary preparations in a timely manner. The Board has also appealed to students to stay in touch with their schools, complete practical files and records on time, and ensure their preparations in light of the exam dates. With this schedule released, students and parents will now have easier time planning their exams.
