Delhi NCR Weather: The heat has now begun to intensify rapidly across Delhi-NCR. With temperatures steadily rising through March and April, the weather has started to feel significantly warmer. While the mornings and evenings offer some respite, the daytime heat is now becoming a source of discomfort for residents. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature could rise by another 4 to 5 degrees Celsius over the coming week. This indicates that a phase of intense heat is about to commence in Delhi-NCR.

Delhi’s Weather Today: Clear Skies and Rising Temperatures

On April 13, Delhi is expected to experience clear skies and bright sunshine throughout the day. The maximum temperature is projected to range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius. In most parts of Delhi—including the North, West, and South-East districts—winds are expected to blow at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometers per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 30 kilometers per hour during the day.

Similar conditions—characterized by dry weather and rising temperatures—are also expected to prevail in neighboring cities such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. The Meteorological Department has indicated that, for the time being, there are no warnings regarding heavy rainfall or storms; however, strong winds during the afternoon hours may lead to dusty conditions, potentially causing discomfort to residents.

Prospects of Heatwaves in the Coming Days

Weather experts have warned that heatwave-like conditions could develop in Delhi on April 14 and 15, potentially driving temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius. Nighttime temperatures are also expected to remain above normal levels, offering residents little respite from the heat.

A weak Western Disturbance is likely to develop over the Himalayan region around April 15; consequently, light cloud cover may appear over parts of the Delhi-NCR region starting April 16. However, this weather system is not expected to bring about any significant drop in temperatures. Maximum temperatures are likely to hover between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius through April 17 and 18.

Given the rising heat and the intensifying glare of the sun, residents are advised to drink plenty of water, avoid outdoor activities during the peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the severe heat conditions developing in the region.
