A 12-digit unique identification number is issued to the citizen of India by the central government. In which the person’s name, address, mobile number, photo and his biometric information are also included. If you do not like the photo on the basis, then you can get it changed. The responsibility of issuing and managing the Aadhaar number has been entrusted to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
UIDAI earlier used to provide online facility to update name, address, mobile number as well as photograph in Aadhar card. But now online process is available only for change of address. For other changes such as name, mobile number, date of birth, e-mail address and photograph, you have to process offline. There are two options for photos. The first one can go to the nearest enrollment center and the second one can apply for change in the photograph through post.

To change the Aadhaar photo, follow these steps
>> First go to the official website of UIDAI in the Get Aadhaar section and download the Aadhaar enrollment / update form.
>> After this fill the form correctly and submit it by going to the Aadhaar Enrollment Center.
>> Your fingerprints, retina scan and photograph will be re-captured at the enrollment center.
>> To update your Aadhaar information, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.
>> As soon as the application to update your photo is accepted, you will get a URN or update request number.
>> Through this number, you can track your application online.
>> The required data will be sent to the UIDAI Corporate Office. You get a new Aadhaar card with updated picture in about 90 days.

>> If you do not want to go to Aadhaar Seva Kendra, then you can write to UIDAI Regional Office Can improve or update Aadhaar card.
>> For this, go to UIDAI portal and download ‘Aadhaar Card Update Correction’ form from there.
>> Now you fill all the information asked in this form.
>> After this, write a letter to update the Aadhaar card, the name of the regional office of UIDAI.
>>
>> After this, post both the form and the letter to the UIDAI office.
>> Within two weeks you will get a new Aadhaar card with new photograph.
