Aadhaar card is missing? E-Aadhaar can be easily downloaded from home, know what is its process

  • You must first open the official website of UIDAI https://resident.uidai.gov.in/.
  • On the left side of the homepage of UIDAI website, you will see ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.
  • Under the ‘Get Aadhaar’ section under this tab, you will get the option of ‘Download Aadhaar’.
  • Now select one of the Aadhaar Number, Enrolment ID and Virtual ID.
  • Enter the number you have chosen.
  • If you want a Masked Aadhaar Card, then click on the option of Masked Aadhaar Card.
  • Now enter captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’.
  • After this you will be able to download the PDF copy of Aadhaar card by entering OTP.

The PDF copy that comes in front of you after downloading the Aadhaar Card can be opened only by entering the password. Here you have to enter the year of birth with the first four letters of your name as a password.

The thing to note here is that in order to download E-Aadhaar, it is important that you remember your 12-digit identification number or have a copy of it. If you have a photocopy of the Aadhaar card, then with the help of that, your work will be easily done. If you do not remember the Aadhaar card number and do not have a copy, then find the Enrolment ID received at the time of your documents Aadhaar registration.

This will also help you to download a PDF copy of Aadhaar Card. If your Aadhaar card is locked, you can download E-Aadhaar by entering the virtual ID.

If you do not remember your Aadhaar card number, then by this process you can get your Aadhaar card number:

  • Open UIDAI website https://resident.uidai.gov.in/.
  • Now click on ‘Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID / UID’ option under ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
  • Select either the Aadhaar number or the enrollment number.
  • Enter the name, mobile number, email id and captcha code.
  • Now after verification of OTP you will get the Aadhaar number.
