Aadhaar Card Update: Big information is coming out from UIDAI regarding Aadhaar Card. There has been a huge boom in Aadhaar number based face verifications for providing services. There were 1.06 crore such verifications in May, which is the highest monthly figure so far. This information was given in an official release. This is the second consecutive month when the number of face verification has crossed one crore.

Increased number of face verification

According to the statement, the number of face verification is increasing. There has been an increase of 38 percent in the number of verifications done in May as compared to such verifications in January, 2023. Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning solution developed by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is now being used by 47 units. These include state government departments, central government ministries and some banks.

Where is it being used?

It is being used in registration of beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, verification of beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana and for issuing digital life certificates to households by pensioners.

Used to open accounts

Apart from this, it is also being used for marking attendance of employees in many government departments and opening accounts in some leading banks through their bank representatives. It was told in the release that in May, UIDAI revised 1.48 crore Aadhaar cards after receiving applications from the people.
