UIDAI has launched the new Aadhaar app, which helps manage digital identities in a fast and secure way. The app is now available on Android and iOS and allows users to share their information.
UIDAI has launched a new version of the Aadhaar mobile app. The new Aadhaar app is now available on both Android and iOS. It’s simpler, faster, and features several new privacy features.
This app has been specifically designed with convenience and privacy in mind, so that people can easily manage their digital identity and share important information when needed, that too without carrying the physical Aadhaar card.
The app’s interface is now cleaner and faster than before. Upon opening the app, users will see their Aadhaar number, photo, and address. According to UIDAI, the app loads quickly even on older mobile phones. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
How to set up the Aadhaar app?
UIDAI claims that setting up the app is very easy and takes less than a minute. After installing the app:
- Enter your Aadhaar number
- Verify with the OTP received on your registered mobile number
- Authenticate using your face, fingerprint, or PIN, depending on your device.
- After this, the app will remember your profile, eliminating the need to log in every time.
Privacy and Security Features
- The new app has a strong focus on security.
- Users can lock their Aadhaar profile, making their Aadhaar number, photo, and address invisible to anyone.
- Unlocking it requires only a biometric or secure PIN.
- The app also includes an activity log, which will show when and where the profile was unlocked.
Sharing Aadhaar Information
Instead of sharing their entire Aadhaar profile, users can now share only the required information, such as name, date of birth, or QR code.
Offline verification is also possible through QR codes, allowing identity verification without a paper Aadhaar card.
Add Family Members
Another useful feature in the app is that you can add up to five Aadhaar numbers. This allows you to view the Aadhaar details of family members, such as parents, children, or grandparents, all in one place.
Furthermore, Aadhaar profiles are also available offline, meaning Aadhaar details can be viewed even when the internet is not available.
Digital identity has become increasingly important for banking, government services, or travel. The new Aadhaar app will help users manage their digital identities in a secure, simple, and fast way, while also addressing privacy concerns.
With a new look and improved privacy features, the app can become even more useful for Indian citizens in managing their digital identities and securely sharing essential information.
