Aadhar: If you have not updated your Aadhaar card information yet, then you have a golden opportunity to update it for free. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is giving a chance to update the information in Aadhaar for free. Users can update Aadhaar information online on myAadhaar portal. Users can take advantage of UIDAI’s free service till June 14, 2025. That is, users have about 12 days left to update for free. However, UIDAI has extended the deadline for updating the address for free several times before this. It is possible that this deadline may be extended once again, but for this one will have to wait for the official announcement. Until the deadline is extended, the last date for free update in Aadhaar is June 14.

Which information can be updated for free

Under this free service, you can update your Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoA) online. However, after June 15, 2025, if you go to a physical Aadhaar center and get the information updated, a fee of Rs 50 will be charged, which is equal to the current offline charge.

Why did UIDAI make this appeal?

UIDAI has especially appealed to those people to update Aadhaar, whose Aadhaar is 10 years or more old and has never been updated till now. This keeps the information in the record correct. There is no problem in taking advantage of any government schemes using Aadhaar.

Why is Aadhaar important?

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Government of India to the residents of the country. It serves as a proof of identity and address and is used in many government and private works such as banks, mobile numbers, government schemes. UIDAI i.e. Unique Identification Authority of India works to issue, correct and renew Aadhaar. Its purpose is to provide reliable digital identity to all Indian citizens.

If you have not updated Aadhaar till now, then there is a good opportunity to update it online for free till June 14, 2025. Later this facility will be available at the physical center only with fees. So update online as soon as possible and make your records correct and safe.
