ABPMJAY: ESIC- Ayushman Bharat Convergence – Health facilities will be cashless, know your district is also included?

1.35 crore beneficiaries of ESIC will get free health facilities in hospitals under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY without any referral

The Ministry of Labor has announced to link the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) with the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which will provide cashless medical facilities to about 1.35 crore people. Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar has announced the convergence of both.

1.35 crore beneficiaries of ESI will get cashless health facilities in hospitals under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY without any referral. The Ministry says that at present, the health centers under Ayushman India are not being utilized in full and it is being linked with ESIC to promote it.

At present, this facility is being started as a pilot project. That is, this facility will start in 4 states and union territories, which include Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The government has also released a list of 113 districts where these Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY will provide health facilities to ESI beneficiaries.

At present, there are a total of 1520 ESI dispensaries and 159 hospitals in the country, out of which 45 dispensaries are directly operated by ESIC, while the rest are under the state government.




Which facilities will be available?

1. ESI beneficiary will get all healthcare facilities in Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY hospitals

2. The beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY will be able to avail health facilities in the hospitals covered under ESIC.

3. ESIC beneficiaries will be able to get free treatment in hospitals of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY only through ESIS card.

4. Similarly, the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY will be able to take advantage of the healthcare facilities in the hospitals covered under ESIC.

For these services, ESI e-ID card or health card and Aadhaar will be required. For further information for the needy, the Ministry has asked to contact the tollfree helpline which is 1800 112 526/1800 113 839.

Which districts were included in the project?

In Madhya Pradesh, facility will be provided in 50 districts, which include districts like Bhopal, Khandwa, Dewas, Chhindwara, Guna, Gwalior, Ratlam, Rewa, Jabalpur, Jhabua, Ujjain, Vidisha. Here is the complete list –

At the same time, the facility is being started in only four districts of Karnataka, which include Bidar, Chikmagalur, Chikballapur and Kodagu.

A total of 33 districts are included in this pilot project in Maharashtra, which include districts like Akola, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Latur, Satara Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri.

26 districts of Chhattisgarh have also been added to this pilot project of the ESIC and the convergence of Ayushman Bharat. It includes districts like Dantewada, Durg, Bastar, Mungoli, Sukma, Raigad, Balrampur.
