DDA has issued a notice to vacate the landless camp in Kalkaji, warning to remove illegal slums within three days. Housing has been allotted to 1862 eligible families. As per the court order, after removing the encroachment from 8 to 10 June, a demolition drive will be carried out.
Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has issued a notice to vacate the landless (JJ) camp located in Kalkaji. Notices have been pasted on the illegal slums of the camp. Under this, a warning has been given to vacate the place within the next three days. After this the encroachment will be demolished.
What warning was given in the notice?
So far only 1,862 families have been found eligible in the landless camp and they have been allotted government housing. DDA has written in the notice that all the residents of the landless camp in Kalkaji Extension are being informed that as per the court’s instructions, illegal construction will be demolished.
The encroachers are being given three days i.e. from June 8 to 10 to vacate the place. After this a demolition drive will be carried out. Earlier in May, slums were demolished in the landless camp.
1,862 families found eligible
According to DDA, residents living in JJ colonies before January 1, 2015 are included based on the DUSIB policy. Here 1,862 families were found eligible. This action is important to reclaim DDA land, complete housing projects for other JJ camps nearby and prevent encroachment in future.
