A PIA officer present at the scene attempted to intervene, but the standing air hostess can be clearly seen raising her hand at her seated colleague. She can also be heard angrily exclaiming, “How could you say that?” The clip is only 12 seconds long.
PIA officials calmed the commotion.
Indeed, the officer attempting to mediate the situation looked at the person recording the video and told him not to record it. Later, employees present, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the two were making personal attacks on each other.
Despite their immediate intervention, the video of the incident spread on social media, drawing public attention and raising questions about workplace discipline. The airline, reiterating its commitment to professional behavior, suspended both employees pending an investigation.
PIA suspends both air hostesses
A PIA spokesperson confirmed the incident and said the airline takes matters of discipline and professional conduct very seriously. The spokesperson added, “Both air hostesses have been suspended and an investigation has been initiated. Action will be taken against those responsible in accordance with company regulations.”
The incident has sparked a conversation about workplace behavior and the challenges faced by airline staff. Meanwhile, PIA has assured the public that steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in future and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards misbehaviour by its employees.
