Noida International Airport: There is a bad news for those who travel by plane. If you are thinking of catching a flight from Noida International Airport in the coming time, then get ready to loosen your pocket a little more. The Airport Regulatory Authority (AERA) has decided to impose a new charge, which is being called ‘User Development Fee’ (UDF). This means, apart from your ticket, you may have to pay ‘extra’ fare ranging from ₹ 210 to ₹ 980. By the way, let us tell you that UDF at Delhi’s IGI Airport is between ₹ 129 to ₹ 810.
How much will be the charge?
According to the new and temporary tariff issued, passengers will have to pay this much UDF:
Passengers on domestic flights will have to pay a UDF of ₹490.
Passengers on international flights will have to pay a UDF of ₹980.
For Arrival:
UDF of ₹210 will be charged for domestic arrivals.
UDF of ₹420 will be charged for international arrivals.
All these charges will be taxed separately. This temporary tariff will remain in force till March 31, 2026 or until AERA issues a regular tariff.
What could be the estimated number of passengers?
The airport operator estimates that more than 94% of passengers will be from domestic flights in the initial years. 57 lakh domestic and 2.4 lakh international passengers are expected in the current financial year. This number can increase to 1.7 crore domestic and 10 lakh international passengers by March 2030. Let us tell you that this airport is going to start from October 2025. The target is to be included in the world’s largest airports
The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to develop Noida International Airport as one of the largest airports in the world, which will have multiple terminals and runways. At present, Delhi’s IGI Airport is the busiest airport in India, handling 10 crore passengers annually. The Noida airport will be the second international airport in the National Capital Region (NCR) and will cater to air traffic for cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra and Mathura. It will serve as a gateway to several religious and tourist destinations.
