Airport lounge access rules changed: HDFC Bank has changed the process of providing complimentary airport lounge access to its debit card holders. The bank recently (effective January 10, 2026) introduced a voucher-based system instead of a simple card swipe. This means that the process of availing free airport lounge access with an HDFC Bank debit card will no longer depend solely on meeting spending criteria, but also on claiming a digital voucher sent via SMS or email.

According to HDFC Bank, customers who have met the spending criteria of ₹10,000 every three months will receive a text message or email on their registered mobile number or email ID within 2-3 working days. This will contain a link to claim their lounge access voucher.
HDFC Bank customers will need to claim the voucher by clicking on the link. Upon claiming, a 12-18 digit voucher code will be sent to the registered email address and mobile number. This voucher code will need to be shown upon entry to the airport lounge to receive complimentary access.
Previously, customers who met the spending criteria of ₹5,000 every three months were eligible for airport lounge benefits in the following quarter. They simply had to swipe their physical debit card at the lounge.
How to claim an HDFC Bank lounge voucher?
Step 1: HDFC Bank debit card customers will receive a text message or email with a link to claim the lounge voucher upon meeting the quarterly spending criteria of ₹10,000.
Step 2: Click on the link, login with the registered mobile number, and verify the OTP.
Step 3: The customer must login with the mobile number to which the eligibility communication was sent. Even if the mobile number has changed since the eligibility communication, the customer must login with the old mobile number.
Step 4: Once the OTP is verified, the customer will be able to view the lounge access voucher details on the claim page.
Step 5: To claim the lounge access voucher, click on the ‘claim now’ tab and verify the OTP sent to the registered mobile number.
Step 6: Upon claiming the voucher, the customer will receive a voucher delivery email and text message with a 12-18 digit alphanumeric voucher code or QR code.
Step 7: Show the voucher or QR code at any empanelled lounge to avail lounge benefits.
What is the validity of an HDFC Bank Lounge Voucher?
The validity of an HDFC Bank Lounge Voucher is from the date of creation until the end of the following quarter. The number of complimentary lounge accesses per quarter will depend on your HDFC Bank debit card variant. The limit for complimentary lounge visits per quarter is one for Millennia, Times, and GIGA, two for Platinum and Business, and four for Infiniti.
