Flight Bane: Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended its scheduled flights. This decision was made due to the closure of Qatar’s airspace. Normal flights will not resume until the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) declares the airspace completely safe. However, due to public inconvenience, limited flights are being operated on certain routes between March 9 and March 11, 2026.
Know these rules before going to the airport
Only passengers with confirmed tickets for these limited flights are permitted to board at Hamad International Airport (HIA). Qatar Airways has clearly advised people not to go to the airport solely to inquire about flights or purchase tickets, to avoid crowding and increasing security risks.
Furthermore, priority is being given to those whose final destination is Doha. Currently, transit connections are strictly restricted. The airline has also clarified that these are relief flights and should not be considered the resumption of regular commercial flights.
Ticket Refund and Date Change Rules
The airline has provided a special facility for those who booked tickets between February 28 and March 22, 2026. Passengers can make a one-time change to their travel date, which must be made within 14 days of the original date.
If a passenger no longer wishes to travel, they will receive a full refund. The airline has urged passengers to use the website or app instead of the call center, as the call center is currently overloaded. Priority is being given to those whose travel is within 48 hours.
