Alert: Over 48000 challans issued to four wheeler drivers in a week for overspeeding in delhi

New Delhi. Delhi Traffic Police has issued over 48,000 challans in a week for driving over speed limit. Officials gave this information. The traffic police had amended the notification regarding driving at a speed exceeding the speed limit with effect from June 8. Most of these challans have been sent online after overspeeding recorded in the Over Speed ​​Violation Detector. That is, it is clear that if you are thinking that in the absence of the traffic police, you can escape by breaking the rules, then it will be your fault. The number of online challans is showing that your avoidance is no longer possible through modern technologies.

How many invoices issued

According to the police, a total of 48,412 challans were issued from June 7 to June 13, out of which 48,311 were issued online and 101 on the spot. In a notification issued on June 8, the traffic police had fixed the speed of 60-70 kmph for cars and taxis on national highways, ring roads and airport routes and 30 kmph in market and residential areas.

How is overspeeding caught?



There are mainly two types of challans are issued for those who drive at a speed exceeding the speed limit. Police said that the first method is the ‘Over Speed ​​Violation Detector’ (OSVD) system. In this process a camera is installed on a road which measures the speed of the vehicle. Later it takes the statistics from the database and sends messages to the speed limit violators. He said that another method is ‘Tripod Interceptor’ camera which is mounted on a tripod and it measures the speed of the vehicle. Later the police work to stop the vehicle and issue challan. Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Taj Hassan said the change in speed limit has been rectified. Hassan said, “One class of private and commercial vehicles have been brought under one category. We are issuing electronic challan through OSVD. The speed limit has also been fixed for two wheelers. There was a change in the speed limit on some roads which has been fixed.
