Amidst the ruckus over the privacy policy, WhatsApp issued a clarification, said – privacy will not matter

WhatsApp Privacy Policy Update: From May 15, WhatsApp has implemented its privacy policy. The controversy regarding this policy is not taking the name of ending. New Delhi: WhatsApp Privacy Policy Update: From May 15, WhatsApp has implemented its privacy policy. The controversy regarding this policy is not taking the name of ending. The issue of privacy has now reached the Delhi High Court. An affidavit has been filed in the Delhi High Court in the Central Government regarding WhatsApp’s new privacy policy, which states that WhatsApp is misusing its capability and forcing people to accept the new privacy policy.

No change in privacy of personal messages: WhatsApp

Here WhatsApp has also been continuously presenting clarification regarding its policy. Another statement has also been issued by the WhatsApp spokesperson regarding the policy. In which it has been said that we have already assured the Government of India that the privacy of the users will be our top priority. We would like to remind once again that the recent updates will not change the privacy of the personal messages of the users.

Won’t limit the functionality of WhatsApp

A WhatsApp spokesperson says that its purpose is to provide additional information to people who talk about business, if they so choose. We are not going to limit the functionality of WhatsApp in the coming weeks. Rather, we will keep users informed about updates from time to time, when people use some optional features, such as business communication which is supported by Facebook.

WhatsApp clarified on the updates

Apart from this, WhatsApp has also given answers to some questions. For example, after the policy is implemented on May 15, will the account of the users be closed, what will happen to those users who will accept the policy.

What will happen on the day of the effective date?

Due to the update on May 15, neither the account of any user will be deleted nor the functionality of WhatsApp will end.

What happens after the effective date?

Assuming that most users who have seen the update have accepted it, we will continue to show a notification in WhatsApp informing more about the update and reminding those who did not have a chance to review and accept it . At this time we have no plans to make these reminders persistent and limit the functionality of the app.

Who didn’t accept the update?

There will be more chances for those who haven’t accepted the update directly in the app. For example, when someone re-registers for WhatsApp or if someone wants to use the feature related to this update for the first time.

You can contact us to delete account

You can export your chat history to Android or iPhone and download your account report as well. You can also contact us if you need any help downloading your account report or deleting your account.

Think twice before deleting an account

If you do not accept the update for WhatsApp, your account will not be deleted. Remember that our existing policy regarding inactive users will apply separately. If you’re looking to delete your account on Android, iPhone, or KaiOS, we hope you’ll give it a second thought.

‘We can’t reverse it’

Deleting your account is something we cannot reverse, as it deletes your message history. Removes you from all your WhatsApp groups, and deletes your WhatsApp backup.
