Assembly Breaking News: Food Minister surrounded by questions of his own party

There was a question about paddy purchase and custom milling

Raipur. The Question Hour began on Thursday in the Legislative Assembly. During this, Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat appeared to be surrounded by the question of the MLA of his own party. This question was asked by Congress MLA Santram Netam, who was involved in paddy procurement and custom milling.

MLA Santram Netam asked how much paddy was purchased in Kondagaon in support price in Kharif year 2019-20 and 2020-21? Why was there no lifting of old paddy and milling was not done?




In response, Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat said that 1,44,677 tonnes of paddy were purchased in 2019-20 and 1,43,463 tonnes of paddy were purchased in 2020-21. Against 94,938 tonnes of paddy for custom milling, 63,808 tonnes were deposited by rice millers. In 2020-21, on January 18, 10,595 tonnes out of 13,574 tonnes of rice proportionate to 20,256 tonnes of paddy were deposited.

MLA Santram Netam asked why the remaining paddy milling was not done?

In response to this, Amarjeet Bhagat said that the permission from the center was delayed and the milling capacity of rice is low.

After this, Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik alleged that the paddy has rotted. He made a committee of the House and demanded that the stacking point be investigated. Which will make the whole situation clear.

Amarjeet Bhagat said that only crocodile tears will be shed in the name of farmers. If you want to talk only and do politics, then it is different. Have you even written a letter to the central government for the interest of farmers? If there are supporters of the interest of the farmers, then what is the problem in writing a letter to the Center.

Other questions raised during Question Hour

BJP MLA Ranjana Sahu questioned the police department of Dhamtari district for taking action on the complaints received related to the registry of the land. He asked whether some action has been taken on the complaint received.

In response to this, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that action was taken on the matter that came and more information should be given, action will be taken.

During the Question Hour, in the absence of MLA Arun Vora, MLA Mohan Markam asked that 99497 farmers in the state did not sell paddy. How many people got the token and how many people could not sell the paddy?

Minister Amarjeet Bhagat replied that paddy was cultivated in 40 lakh 39476 hectare area in the state in 2020 -21. Total 2152986 was registered by registered farmer. 95.38% farmers have sold paddy, there is no pressure on anyone to sell paddy.

On this, the opposition asked that those whose tokens have been cut and they have not been able to sell the paddy, will their paddy be purchased? On this, Asandi said, the list will be discussed by asking for it.

During the Question Hour, MLA Kuldeep Juneja raised the matter of widening of Bottle Neck Road located near Naharpara on the route going from Moudhapara in Raipur to Gurdwara. He said that due to lack of widening of this route, people are having trouble in coming and going to the station.

On this, Urban Administration Minister Shiv Dahria replied that two and a half crores are being spent in building roads here and the compensation is going to be about 10 and a half crores. In such a situation it is not possible to give compensation. He said that 9 people are being affected due to the universalization.

MLA Brijmohan Agrawal said that the road widening should be done after taking compensation due to people’s suffering. On this, the Speaker of the Assembly gave the arrangement that Brijmohan Aggarwal and Kuldeep Juneja discussed with the affected people and found a way out.

Raised the issue of custom milling

BJP MLA Krishnamurthy Bandhi raised the issue of custom milling of paddy in Masturi assembly constituency. He asked how many rice mills are there in Masturi assembly constituency. How many rice mills have been registered for custom milling in the year 2019-20 and 2020-21.




On this, Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat informed that 18 rice mills have been registered for custom milling in Masturi assembly constituency in the Kharif year 2020-21. For rice milling, 17 rice mills have been registered in Kharif year 2019 and 18 rice mills in Kharif year 2020. 79495 tonnes of rice have been submitted by registered rice mills in Kharif year 2019 and 23458 tonnes of rice milling in Kharif year 2020 21. Rice mills have sold 14063 runs in Kharif year 2019 and 12013 tonnes of rice in 2020-21 as free sale.
