HDFC Bank is revising the terms of its premium Infinia Metal credit card. The bank has announced that, effective February 1, 2026, reward points earned on this card can now be redeemed a maximum of five times per month. Previously, there was speculation that this limit could be increased to three, but the bank has currently limited it to five. This change is particularly relevant for those who frequently use reward points for flight tickets, hotel bookings, Apple products, or jewelry purchases. Let’s explore the full story in detail.
Understand the entire matter in simple terms here.
In simple terms, you earn five reward points for every ₹150 spent with the Infinia card. If you shop or book through HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy platform, you can earn up to 10 times more points. However, there is a limit on the number of points you can redeem. You can redeem a maximum of ₹2 lakh worth of reward points in a single statement cycle. At the same time, this limit for flights, hotels and airmiles has been kept at Rs 1.5 lakh per month.
Up to 70% can be paid with points
If you want to purchase Apple products or Tanishq vouchers, you can pay up to 70% of the total bill with reward points. The remaining amount must be paid with your card. Furthermore, only up to 50,000 reward points can be redeemed against your statement balance each month. Another important note is that if you don’t use your card for 365 days, your accumulated reward points may expire.
New Rule for Debit Card Customers
HDFC Bank has also implemented a new rule for its debit card customers. Starting January 10, 2026, those with a total spending of ₹10,000 or more in three months will receive a link via SMS or email for airport lounge access. Clicking on that link will allow you to claim the voucher.
What is the Infinia Metal Credit Card?
