Ayushman Bharat: Cashless treatment will now be done under Ayushman Bharat, ESIC employees will get benefit

With the merger of Ayushman Bharat and Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), more than one crore beneficiaries of the country will now be able to get cashless treatment.

New Delhi: Union Minister Santosh Gangwar of the Government of India has recently announced the merger of Ayushman Bharat and Employees State Insurance Corporation. The merger of these two schemes will benefit 1.35 crore people of the country.

With the merger of these schemes, 1.35 crore beneficiaries from 113 districts of the country will be able to avail cashless treatment.

A big step in the health sector

Union Minister Santosh Gangwar has described the merger of Ayushman Bharat and Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) as a major step in the field of health.

The Union Minister says that with this step of the government, the beneficiaries will be able to get treatment even in those hospitals where the facility of ESIC scheme is not available.




In a program organized for merging these two schemes at Shram Shakti Bhawan in Delhi, the Union Minister said that initially the process of this merger will be implemented in 113 districts of the country only.

With this initiative of the central government, the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme will now be able to get treatment in ESIC hospitals. While the beneficiaries of ESIC scheme can get treatment in any hospital under the Ayushman scheme.

These states will get benefits

At present, the facilities of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals in states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are not available.

In these states, the beneficiaries of ESIC still have to go to other states for treatment. With the merger of Ayushman Bharat and Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), the beneficiaries of ESIC in these states will now be able to get treatment in hospitals covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

With the merger of Ayushman Bharat and Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), 1.35 crore employees and their dependents in 113 districts of these states can avail cashless treatment under Ayushman Yojana.

ESIC employees will have to present their ESIC identity card, Aadhaar card or health pass book at the time of treatment for treatment in the hospital.

Similarly, in states like Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh , the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme can get cashless treatment in ESIC hospitals and medical colleges.

This process of merger will also be applicable in other states in the coming days, which will benefit a large population of the country.
