Bank Closed: Big news for bank customers! Banks will not work for 15 days, know the reason

Bank Holidays in August 2025: The festival season has started once again. There are many big festivals in the month of August. Due to which bank employees will get long holidays this month. Apart from Saturday and Sunday, there will be many major festivals like Independence Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Jamnashtami. Let us tell you, next month banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in different states. Let us know when and where there will be a holiday.

All government and private banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Whereas, bank employees remain closed on all Sundays.

When are bank employees on leave?

3 August – Bank employees will be on leave due to Sunday.

8 August – Banks will remain closed in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, due to Tendong Lho Rum Faat.

9 August – Banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow, Kanpur, Shimla, Jaipur, Dehradun. Raksha Bandhan and Jhoolana festivals also fall on this day. Banks will remain closed in all other parts of the country as it is the second Saturday of the month.

10 August – Banks will remain closed due to Sunday.

13 August – Bank employees will be closed in Imphal.

15 August – Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to Independence Day, Parsi New Year and Janmashtami festival.

16 August – Bank employees will be closed in Ahmedabad, Mizoram, Bhopal, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Raipur, Patna, Shillong, Jammu and Kashmir, Vijayawada due to Janmashtami.

17 August – Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday.

19 August – Banks in Agartala will remain closed due to Maharaj Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s birth anniversary.

23 August – There will be no business in banks across the country due to the second Saturday of the month.

24 August – Bank employees will have a holiday due to Sunday.

25 August – Banks will remain closed in Guwahati due to Srimanta Shankar Dev’s date.

27 August – Banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Panaji, Vijayawada will have a holiday due to Ganesh Chaturthi, Varasiddhi Vinayak Vrat.

28 August – Banks in Bhubaneswar and Panaji will remain closed on this day.

31 August – Bank employees will have a holiday due to Sunday.
