However, one thing to keep in mind is that these holidays are not the same in every state and are decided based on the festivals celebrated on different days in different regions.

Details of holidays for the week

For ease of banking operations, let us know which festival is on which day and where the banks will remain closed.

On Wednesday, September 3, banks will remain closed in Jharkhand state on the occasion of Karma Puja festival. Banking services will be affected especially in the capital Ranchi.

On Thursday, September 4, banks will remain completely closed due to the beginning of Onam festival in Kerala. There will be no banking services in cities like Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

Friday, September 5 is an important day for many states. On this day, banks will remain closed in many states and cities like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Manipur, Jammu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, New Delhi, Jharkhand and Srinagar due to Eid-e-Milad (Milad-un-Nabi) and Thiruvonam.

On Saturday, September 6, banks will be closed in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh due to Id-e-Milad (Milad-un-Nabi) and Indrajatra. Banking services will not be available in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar.

On Sunday, September 7, banks remain closed across the country, because according to RBI rules, all public and private sector banks remain closed on Sundays.

If you have some important financial work and the bank is closed, then there is no need to panic. Digital banking facility can be useful for you. Online or mobile banking services are always available.

If you need cash, you can withdraw money from an ATM. You can also send or receive money through UPI. However, transactions involving cheques and promissory notes may be affected by the holidays, as bank staff is required to process them.
