Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed for two days in many parts of the country on the occasion of Bakrid i.e. Eid-ul-Adha and Eid-ul-Zuha. According to the list of holidays of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), public and private sector banks will remain closed in some states on 6 and 7 June. Apart from this, there will be a regular weekly holiday across the country on Sunday, June 8. That is, from today banks will remain closed for 3 days in some states.
Bank customers are advised to keep checking the list of RBI holidays from time to time,
because bank holidays in India vary according to the state, festival and local traditions. Some holidays are applicable across the country, while some are valid only in some states.
June 2025 Bank Holidays Schedule
June 6 (Friday): Banks will remain closed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in Kerala on the occasion of Bakrid. The festival is an important occasion in Islam, which commemorates the devotion and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim to Allah.
June 7 (Saturday): Banks will remain closed in most parts of the country on account of Bakrid, but banks will remain open in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram as it is the first Saturday of the month. Banks are closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays in India.
June 8 (Sunday): All banks across the country will remain closed on account of regular weekly holiday.

Yes, online services like UPI, Internet Banking and Mobile Banking will remain fully operational during these holidays. Customers can easily do money transfer, checkbook request, debit/credit card service and NEFT/RTGS transactions through these means.
