Bank Holiday Today, November 7, 2025: If you’re planning to complete an important bank-related task on Friday, November 7, check if banks are closed in your state. Banks will be closed on Friday, not nationwide, but only in the state of Meghalaya. All government, private, and rural bank branches will remain closed there.
RBI has declared a holiday from November 5 to 9.
According to the RBI holiday list, there are consecutive bank holidays from November 5 to 9 in various states due to festivals and local events. Although these holidays are on different dates in each state, banks will not be closed simultaneously across the country.
Why are banks closed on 7th November?
On this day, the Wangala Festival is celebrated in Meghalaya, a major festival of the Garo tribe. It is also known as the Drum Festival. This festival is celebrated to thank the Sun God (Saljong) after the harvest. Wangala means drumming. On this occasion, men from the Garo community play traditional drums, and women, dressed in colorful costumes, celebrate with folk songs.
Other Bank Closed Times in November
