Bank Holiday: If you’re planning to visit the bank in the coming days, let us inform you that banks will be closed for two consecutive days. Therefore, it’s important to first learn about the bank holidays in your city before planning your visit. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases a list of bank holidays in advance, detailing which days banks will be closed in which cities and for which reasons. Therefore, before visiting the bank on any given day, be sure to check the RBI bank holiday list.

Banks will be closed on March 13th and 14th. So, let’s find out where and why banks will be closed on these two days.

March 13 Bank Holiday

On March 13, banks will be closed in only one state. This state is Mizoram, meaning banks will be closed only in Mizoram on March 13. Banks will remain open throughout the country. The RBI has declared a bank holiday in Mizoram on March 13 due to the Chapchar Kut festival. The Chapchar Kut festival is a Mizoram state festival celebrated in March, after the completion of the most difficult task of shifting cultivation, i.e., clearing the forest.

March 14 Bank Holiday

March 14 is a Saturday. March 14 is the second festival of the month. Therefore, banks will be closed across the country on March 14 as well.

It’s worth noting that banks will remain closed for several days in different cities throughout the remainder of this month. Therefore, before visiting the bank on any given day, be sure to check the March bank holiday list.
