HDFC Bank has changed the rules of Imperia Service, TRV of Rs 1 crore will be mandatory from 1 October 2025. Old rules will also remain applicable, customers will get many free services.
Banking System: There is important news for HDFC Bank customers. The bank is going to change the rules of its special Imperia service. This service is for select customers of the bank, in which many special facilities are available. The new rules will come into effect from October 1, 2025. The bank has informed its customers about this.
The biggest part of this change is the new rule of Total Relationship Value i.e. TRV, under which the customer and his family should have a total amount of Rs 1 crore or more in their accounts.
Which customers will this rule apply to?
This rule will apply to those customers who have joined the Imperia program before June 30, 2025. For them, new rules will start from October 1. But for those customers who have joined the Imperia program after July 1 or whose status has been upgraded or downgraded, these rules are already applicable.
TRV means the total value of all the accounts, deposits, investments and certain loans of the customer and his family. This includes the amount of savings account, current account and fixed deposit. Apart from this, mutual funds and other investments made through the bank, 20 percent of retail loans, 20 percent value of demat holdings and premium of insurance policy purchased through the bank are also added.
Old rules will also remain applicable
Old rules will also remain applicable. If a customer maintains an average balance of Rs 15 lakh every quarter in his current account, or an average monthly balance of Rs 10 lakh in his savings account, or an average monthly balance of Rs 30 lakh in savings, current and fixed deposit accounts combined, then he can become a part of the Imperia program. Apart from this, if someone’s monthly salary is Rs 3 lakh or more and he comes under HDFC Bank’s corporate salary account, then he can also join this program.
Customers get many free services
Imperia program customers get many free services that ordinary account holders have to pay for. These include services like fund transfer between branches, stop payment on cheques, cheque collection, duplicate account statement, mandate registration, retrieving old records, obtaining interest and balance certificates, and address or signature verification. These facilities are free for Imperia customers, making their banking experience easy and special.
This change is being made so that the Imperia program can be maintained for more special customers. If you are a part of this program, then check your account balance and investment. If you do not have a TRV of Rs 1 crore, then you can remain in this program as per the old rules. This program is for those who have a big and long relationship with the bank. This step of HDFC Bank is in the direction of providing better services to the customers and strengthening premium banking.
