Big change in ration card rules: Don’t forget to do this !!

New rule for Ration Card Holders: Ration card holders have been provided with biometric discounted monthly discounted items.

To prevent the spread of corona infection, measures have been taken to provide products in the form of OTP (i.e. Password Acquisition on Mobile) and IRIS authentication with the safety of the people in mind. Biometric authentication has been discontinued due to COVID-19 infection.




According to Civil Supplies Department officials, all ration card holders are required to link their Aadhaar Card with their mobile number to receive ration items. Only then can you get the OTP. This decision has been taken as per the guidelines of the order issued by the High Court. The court took this decision after hearing the petition filed. In this petition, it is stated that corona infection is likely to spread due to biometric authentication.

According to a report, this rule regarding ration card has been implemented in the state of Telangana from February 1, 2021. Due to lack of IRIS accreditation facility in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, ration items will be provided through mobile OTP at these locations.

The state government issues ration cards. Due to the federal government’s One Nation-One ration card scheme, ration items can now be obtained not only in the home state but also in other states.

cIf you have not yet received your ration card, you do not need to go to any government office. Because now the process of creating ration card has come online. Ration cards are made in two types. Different ration cards are issued to those below the poverty line and above.




Indians above 18 years of age can apply for ration card. You can only have one state ration card. It will include the name of the head of the family and other family members. No need to wander to government offices like before to get this. You can apply for a ration card online from home.

To apply for a ration card, you can go to your state’s food portal and apply online. For example, if you live in Uttar Pradesh, you should visit https://fcs.up.gov.in/FoodPortal.aspx. From here you need to download the card form. To get a ration card, you can provide identity documents such as Aadhar card, voter card, driving license. After applying, you will have to pay a fee of 5 to 45 rupees. After the form is submitted, it is sent for verification. Verification is completed within 30 days. Ration card is issued within 30 days.
