Big Changes from 1 December: Four major changes from today, 1 December, bring shock and relief.

Big Changes from 1 December: A new month has begun, and since it’s also the last month of the year, many hopes were high for some relief. However, the very first day of the month brought both relief and setbacks. Here’s a breakdown of the changes taking effect today, December 1st. Check out which changes will affect you and what to keep in mind when embarking on important work this month.

Big Changes from 1 December: At the beginning of this month, December, some changes occurred that may bring relief to the general public, while also causing setbacks. On one hand, commercial cylinders have become cheaper, easing the costs of hotel and restaurant owners, while on the other hand, airplane fuel has become more expensive, meaning that if the burden is passed on to passengers, tickets may become more expensive. Here are four such significant changes.

LPG Price

Although mild, December has begun with some relief. However, this relief is for traders, as OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies) have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial cylinders by ₹10, effective today, December 1. Last month, the price of commercial cylinders used in hotels, restaurants, etc., was also reduced by ₹5. However, there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders used in homes.

ATF Price Hike: Aircraft fuel becomes expensive

According to details on Indian Oil’s website, ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) prices have increased from today, December 1st. For domestic airlines, ATF prices in Delhi have increased by ₹5,133.75 compared to November, reaching ₹99,676.77 per kiloliter. The new price per kiloliter in Kolkata is ₹1,02,371.02, in Mumbai ₹93,281.04, and in Chennai ₹1,03,301.80. This may impact airfare.

17 Bank Holidays

This month, including the second and fourth Saturdays, and Sundays as weekly holidays, banks will remain closed for a total of 17 days. However, note that according to the RBI’s bank holiday list, holidays vary by state, meaning banks in every state will not be closed for 17 days. In such a situation, before leaving home for bank-related work, make sure your bank is open. While the month begins with a holiday, only banks in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland are closed today. Banks across the country are closed on December 25th.

UPS: Deadline Not Extended

An important change applies to government employees starting today, December 1st. They will no longer have the option to choose between NPS and UPS, as the deadline has not been extended. The deadline for choosing the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) was extended from September 30th to November 30th, but this has not been extended, meaning government employees will no longer have this opportunity.
