What Is Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme?

To encourage new employment, new PF members (who have got a new UAN account) or those who already had a UAN account but due to Corona, joined the employment from 1 October 2020 to 30 June 2021 under the Self-reliant India Employment Scheme. If there was retrenchment or job was lost between 2020 to September 2020, then 12% PF contribution of such PF members and 12% PF contribution of employer, total 24% PF contribution will be deposited by the central government for the next 2 years. Under this, along with PF members, those employers will also get benefits under which less than 1000 employees are employed.

ABRY EPFO ​​Registration Deadline Extended

On Monday, 28 June 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the deadline for registration under the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme has been increased from 30 June 2021 to 31 March 2022. That is, by March 31, 2022, all the new employees will join employment and they will get a new UAN account, then those PF employees can be registered by the employer under the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme, in such a situation, the 12% PF contribution of the employee will be given by the central government next. Will be deposited for 2 years, as well as 12% PF Contribution of employers with less than 1000 employees will also be deposited by the Central Government.

Benefits Under Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana ABRY EPFO ​​BENIFIT

  • The contribution of 12% of the new employees who joined from 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2022 will be deposited by the Central Government for the next 2 years.
  • Employees who already had a UAN account but lost their jobs between March 2020 and September 2020 due to coronavirus and rejoined jobs after October 1, 2020, will also be able to register under it.
  • Along with the employee, 12% PF of those employers will also be deposited by the Central Government under which less than 1000 employees are working.
  • In the employers under which more than 1000 employees are employed, only 12% PF of the employee will be deposited by the central government.
  • Under this scheme, PF contribution will be deposited by the central government for the next 2 years, due to which PF employees will be able to take more in hand salary.


Extension Of Atmanirbhar Bharat Employment Scheme

  • Self-reliant Employment Scheme was launched on 1 October 2020 to encourage employers to create new jobs, restore loss of employment through EPFO.
  • An amount of Rs 22,810 crore has been sanctioned for 58.50 lakh estimated beneficiaries. Under this, the last date of registration was kept 30.06.2021, which has now been extended to 31.03.2022.
  • Under this scheme, subsidy is provided for two years from the date of registration for new employees having monthly salary less than Rs.15000.
  • The PF contribution of both the employer and the employee (total 24% of the wages) for the establishment strength of up to 1000 employees is to be done by the Central Government.
  • In case of establishment strength of more than 1000 only employee ‘s share (12% of wages) PF contribution is made by the Central Government.
  • So far, 21.42 lakh beneficiaries of 79,577 establishments have been given a benefit of Rs 902 crore till 18.06.2021.
  • The last date of registration for getting benefits under the scheme has been extended from 30.06.2021 to 31.03.2022.
