Big relief to farmers! Modi government increased the subsidy on DAP by ₹ 700, now fertilizer will be available for this much rupees

New Delhi. The Modi government at the Center has taken a big decision in the interest of farmers on Wednesday. The cabinet has increased the subsidy rate on DAP fertilizer by Rs 700 per bag. Now the price per sack of DAP will be Rs 2400. Earlier, these farmers used to get a subsidy of Rs 500 per bag. This increase in subsidy will increase the additional burden of Rs 14,775 crore on the exchequer. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers himself gave this information.

What was the offer?

Let us inform that the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers in which it was recommended to increase the nutrient based subsidy rate of phosphorus and potash based fertilizers. This recommendation has been made for 2021-22. In the press conference held today, Mansukh Mandaviya said that earlier the central government had cut the subsidy of non-urea fertilizers. Due to which the burden of Rs 22,186.55 crore on the exchequer was reduced in this financial year during the Corona epidemic.

The subsidy on fertilizer reduced by Rs 18.78

The Fertilizer Ministry said in a statement that for the current financial year, the subsidy on nitrogen based fertilizers has been reduced to Rs 18.78 per kg and on phosphorus based fertilizers to Rs 14.88 per kg. Similarly, the subsidy per kg on potash was reduced to Rs 10.11 per kg while the subsidy per kg on sulphur was fixed at Rs 2.37. For 2019-20, the subsidy per kg for nitrogen was fixed at Rs 18.90, for phosphorus at Rs 15.21, for potash at Rs 11.12. Similarly, the subsidy per kg for sulfur was fixed at Rs 3.56.
