H5N1 bird flu does not spread easily from person to person like the common flu in humans. Spreads from one person to another only when there is a very close contact between the two. Such as a mother caring for an infected child or people taking care of another infected member of the household.

The virus remains alive for 10 days in the feces and saliva of infected birds.

What is the treatment- Different types of bird flu are treated in different ways but in most cases it is treated with antiviral drugs. It is necessary to take medicines within 48 hours of showing symptoms. Apart from the person infected with bird flu, other members of the household who come in contact with him are also advised to take these medicines, even if they do not have symptoms of the disease.
