Book flight tickets for Rs 999, Alliance Air’s monsoon sale from Saturday

If you are thinking of booking flight tickets to go somewhere, then this news can benefit you a lot. Alliance Air, a wholly-owned arm of state-run airline Air India, has announced the Monsoon Bonanza Sale, under which fares will start at Rs 999 on select routes. The airline said in a press release that the sale will be from June 19 to June 21.


Tickets will be booked for travel from August 1 to October 31

Under this, tickets can be booked for travel from August 01 to October 31. Routes such as Bengaluru-Mysuru, Mysuru Bengaluru, Mysuru-Kochi, Kochi-Mysuru, Hyderabad-Belgaum, Belgaum-Hyderabad, Delhi-Chandigarh, Chandigarh-Delhi, Kolkata-Bhubaneswar and Raipur-Kolkata have been included in the offer. The fare under the sale will start from Rs 999. Apart from this, passengers will be able to change the date of travel once free of cost. Alliance Air said it will operate 70-seat ATR72 aircraft on these routes.

Let us tell you that earlier  budget  airline company IndiGo has announced to start a flash sale, in which the airline is giving domestic passengers a chance to buy flight tickets for just Rs 1,165. Let us tell you that the sale was for 3 days which started from June 12. Under this offer, customers can book tickets to travel between August 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021. The airline has given information about this offer on its website.

Big drop of 63 percent in the number of air passengers in May

Due to the second wave of Kovid-19, 21.15 lakh passengers traveled by air on domestic routes in May. This number is 63 percent less than 57.25 lakh passengers in April.

According to the data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday, 78.22 lakh people took air travel within the country in March 2021. In the same May, the domestic air travel and aviation sector was badly affected by the second wave of Covid-19.

According to the DGCA, 11.69 lakh passengers traveled in the airline IndiGo, which is 55.3 percent of the total passengers traveling domestically. Apart from this, 1.99 lakh passengers traveled by SpiceJet which is 9.4 percent of the total domestic air flights. Apart from this, 4.29 lakh passengers traveled from Air India, 1.38 lakh from Go First (earlier GoAir), 97 thousand from Vistara and 64 thousand from Air Asia in May.

The Passenger Load Factor (PLF), or the ratio of seats filled, of the six major airlines declined in May to between 39.3 and 64 percent. Affordable airline SpiceJet’s PLF fell to 64 per cent in May. This was followed by GoAir’s PLF of 63.3 percent, IndiGo’s 51.2 percent, AirAsia India’s 44.4 percent, Star Air’s 41.2 percent, Vistara’s 40.9 percent and Air India 39.3 percent.


Last year, after two months of strict lockdown, on May 25, domestic air travel was opened with the permission of fifty percent passengers. According to DGCA, IndiGo delivered the best on-time performance of 98.7 per cent at four metro airports – Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. In terms of on-time performance, Vistara stood second at 98.1 per cent and Air Asia at 97.4 per cent.
