Bride got up from the mandap and went to the groom.

The bride and groom were seated in the mandap, and guests had gathered to witness the important wedding ritual, “Jeelakara Bellam.” In this ritual, the bride and groom apply a mixture of cumin and jaggery to each other’s heads. In Telugu tradition, this ritual marks the beginning of married life. Just as the groom was about to tie the mangalsutra around the bride’s neck, a young man suddenly arrived at the venue. He stood near the mandap, surprising everyone present. Meanwhile, the bride got up from her seat and went to the young man and embraced him.

The bride said, “This is my lover.”

The bride declared in front of everyone that the young man was her boyfriend and that they had known each other for a long time. She also made it clear that she did not want to proceed with the marriage arranged by her family. The groom and his family were completely shocked by the bride’s decision. The atmosphere became tense for some time after the incident. Some people also questioned the young man and accused him of disrupting the marriage.

Police were called to the scene.

To prevent the situation from escalating, police were called to the scene, who intervened and brought the situation under control. Ultimately, the wedding was stopped. However, no formal police complaint was filed. On Saturday, a meeting was held between the two families in the presence of village elders, in an attempt to resolve the matter. The bride’s family reportedly agreed to return some of the wedding expenses to the groom’s family.
