Following 4G and E-Sim services, BSNL has also launched VoWiFi. This allows you to make calls even without a network connection. You can easily turn it on in your phone’s settings.
BSNL is constantly improving its network. After recently introducing services like 4G and e-Sim, BSNL has now also launched VoWiFi. With this, those using BSNL SIMs will no longer have to worry about network issues. In fact, with VoWiFi, users will be able to make calls even while using a WiFi network. Let’s learn more about it.
What is VoWiFi?
VoWiFi stands for Voice Over WiFi, meaning calls made using a WiFi network. This feature will be of greatest benefit to those whose BSNL network isn’t strong. Private telecom companies like Jio and Airtel have been offering this feature to their users for quite some time. Now, BSNL has also launched it. This service hides the shortcomings of any telecom company’s network, as weak networks are compensated for by the WiFi network. You can understand it this way: if you have weak BSNL signals at home but have WiFi installed, VoWiFi will allow you to make crystal-clear calls even with weak or no network.
What will you need?
To use BSNL’s VoWiFi service, it is necessary that you have a BSNL SIM and your phone supports VoWiFi. If you use a 4G smartphone, then it is quite possible that this feature will definitely be there in that phone. It is possible that this feature is not turned on, in which case it may have to be turned on by going into the phone’s settings. Apart from this, according to reports, currently BSNL has started it in the West and South zones. So, if you want to use it immediately, then it will be necessary for you to be a user of these zones. However, BSNL is soon going to make this service available across the country as well.
How to turn it on in your phone
- To turn on this service, you’ll need to go to your phone’s Settings and search for “Voice Over WiFi” in the search bar.
- This will take you directly to that setting.
- Or, you can access this setting by tapping on Mobile Network and then tapping on the WiFi Calling or Voice Over WiFi option.
- After this, simply turn this setting on and restart your phone.
- After this, when connected to WiFi, your phone will use the WiFi signal instead of the mobile network, and you’ll be able to make calls even on weak networks.
