India’s First Bullet Train: A new chapter is about to be added to India’s transportation history. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has confirmed that the country’s first bullet train will make its maiden journey on August 15, 2027. This service will be launched in several phases on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, redefining India’s speed.
First Departure from Surat
According to the Railway Minister, bullet train operations will begin in several phases. The first phase, which will begin in August 2027, will run from Surat to Bilimora. The inaugural run will be on the 100-km stretch between Surat and Vapi. The next phases will include Vapi to Surat, Vapi to Ahmedabad, Thane to Ahmedabad, and then, in the final phase, the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor will be operational simultaneously.

12 major stations on the corridor
The train will start from Ahmedabad and go to Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex. The major stations on its route are Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane and Mumbai.
