CBSE Board Exams for Class 10 and 12 are scheduled to begin on February 17, 2026. With just a few months remaining, many students have already begun their preparations. Sample papers will prove to be extremely helpful. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released sample papers for the Class 12 Science stream on its official website, http://www.cbse.gov.in. Candidates can download them free of charge.
Sample papers are crucial for board exams. They help students understand the marking scheme, exam pattern, and difficulty level. This allows them to prepare better. How to download the sample paper:
- First, visit the official website.
- Then select the link to the educational website.
- A new page will open. Go to the “Sample Papers 2025-26” section at the top and click on the Class 12 link.
- The subject-wise sample paper will appear on the screen. Click on the link and download it.
- Candidates can also take a printout for future reference.
Pattern for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry
The theory papers for Chemistry, Biology, and Physics will carry a total of 70 marks. 30 marks will be devoted to the practical paper. Candidates will be allotted 3 hours. The number of questions will be 33. Section A will consist of 16 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark for each correct answer. Section B will consist of 5 short-answer questions, each carrying two marks. Section C will consist of 7 short-answer questions, each carrying three marks. Section D will consist of two case-based questions, each carrying four marks. Section E will consist of three long-answer questions, each carrying five marks. All questions will be critical. The use of log tables or calculators will not be permitted.
Mathematics Pattern
The Mathematics paper will be of 80 marks. Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the paper. The total number of questions will be 38, each question being compulsory. The question paper will be divided into five sections: A, B, C, D, and E. Sections 1 to 18 will be multiple-choice questions. Questions 19 and 20 will be “Assertion” reason-based questions. One mark is awarded for each correct answer. Section B, i.e., questions 21 to 25, will be very short-answer type questions, carrying two marks each. Section C, i.e., questions 26 to 31, will be short-answer questions, carrying three marks each. Section D, i.e., questions 32 to 35, will be long-answer questions, carrying four marks each. Section E, i.e., questions 36 to 38, will be case-based questions, carrying five marks each.
