Changes in bank rules from October 1: Old chequebooks of these banks will be canceled from October 1

From October 1, the old check books of Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India will become useless. Therefore, if you want that there should not be any further problem, then take a new check book from the bank as soon as possible.

United Bank and OBC merged with PNB

OBC and United Bank have been merged with Punjab National Bank (PNB). Now everything from the customer to the branch of both the banks belong to PNB. PNB has said that the existing check books of OBC and United Bank will be closed from October 1. So if you have old check book of these banks, then apply for new check book, so that you do not face any problem in further transactions.

From October 1, the old check book of Allahabad Bank will not be valid and no transaction can be done from it. Allahabad Bank customers can apply for a new check book by visiting the bank branch.

Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) code is a 9 digit code. It identifies bank branches that use the electronic clearing system. This code consists of details like bank code, account details, amount and check number. This code is located at the bottom of a check leaf.
