Chinese are spreading fake apps scam in India, accounts of Indian users are getting empty

Various types of apps are available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It is said that most of the apps are available on the platform only after review. Despite this, malware and fake apps come on the platforms. In this case, the eco-system of the Apple app is considered more secure as the developer has to go through the verification process. Even after this, fake apps remain present on this platform.

With the increase of mobile users, scammers use these platforms to get the fake app installed in the targeted mobile. Recently, an incident has come to the fore in which a fake app blew away more than 150 crores of 5 lakh Indians.

According to the report of news agency ANI, many financial investment apps claim that people who invest money will be given high returns. Cyber Cell of Delhi Police has exposed these rackets. Chinese companies were behind this, which used to cheat using the Multilevel Marketing (MLM) model.

The report said that some apps were listed on the Google Play Store. The police have arrested the cybercriminal involved in this. But still the question remains, how can you identify such fake apps. Fake apps claim to be original. Because of this, it becomes difficult to identify them. There are a few ways in which you can detect fake apps on iOS and Android.

First of all check the app name and developer on the store. When you search for an app and many apps come up in the search result, you can see the spelling mistake in the name or description. Please also check the download number, rating and review of the app.

Apart from this, you can see the publish date of the app. A real app shows the updated on date in most of the cases. You can also check the screenshot of the app. If you find different words or images, you can doubt the originality of the app.

One of the most important things, definitely check what kind of permissions the app demands from you. If he demands too much permission then it is better to remove such app.
