Corona Update: Nearly 90 thousand cases reported in last 24 hours, highest number of cases in 6 months

Maharashtra has the highest contribution in the second wave of Coronavirus in the country.

Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the country and new cases of infections are being broken every day. Once again, the figures of new cases of Corona which have come out from all over the country have increased the concern of the people. More than a dozen states of India are facing the second wave of Corona, for which people are constantly being appealed to take precaution. In the last 24 hours, 89,129 new cases of corona infection have been reported across the country, which is the largest figure since September 19, 2020. With this, the number of positive cases has increased to 1,23,92,260 across the country.

In the last 24 hours, 714 patients have died in the country and the number of deaths from corona in the country has risen to 1,64,110. With this, in the last one day, 44,202 people have been cured of this disease and so far 1,15,69,241 patients in the country have beaten the corona. The new cases reported on Friday are particularly worrisome as the peak of the first wave of corona in the country was on 16 September when 97,860 new cases of infection were reported. The number of positive cases reported during seven days in India reached 68,969 on Friday, which is the highest since October 13 last year.




Maharashtra has the highest share in the second wave

At present, the number of active cases in India is 6,58,909. The largest contributor to this second wave of the country is Maharashtra (Maharashtra), which accounts for 54 percent of the total cases reported daily. From the beginning till now, Maharashtra has been the most affected state of Corona in the country. In the last 24 hours, the state has seen the highest number of 47,827 new cases of corona and 202 patients have died. In Mumbai alone, 8,832 positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. This is the second consecutive day that the state has set a new record in the cases that come up every day. Karnataka at second place, where 4,991 new cases of corona were recorded on the previous day and 4,174 new cases in Chhattisgarh on the third.

Immunization campaign is also being accelerated

Due to this, efforts are being made to further accelerate the vaccination campaign in the country to deal with Corona, and from today the third phase of the vaccination drive (Corona Vaccination 3rd Phase) has started, under which from today 1st April. A program has been started to provide vaccines to all people above the age of 45 years across the country. According to experts, India’s inoculation drive (vaccination speed) is very good and this is also the biggest way to eliminate the second wave of Corona. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, 7,30,54,295 doses of Corona Vaccine have been given across the country till Friday night.
