Cyclone Alert: Cyclone Ditwa will cause heavy rains, warning issued in these states

Cyclone Alert, Weather Update: Cyclone Ditwa has intensified. It will reach the southwest Bay of Bengal near the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh early on November 30. This will cause heavy rainfall in several states, including Tamil Nadu.

Weather Update : Cyclone Ditwa is making landfall over coastal Sri Lanka and the adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. Due to this, a warning has been issued for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during November 28-30 and in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema from November 29 to December 1.

According to the Meteorological Department, yesterday’s deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Sri Lankan coast moved northwestward. Cyclonic Storm Ditwa has intensified. It will reach the southwest Bay of Bengal near the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh early on November 30th. This will cause heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu from November 28th to December 1st. Isolated areas may experience extremely heavy rainfall in coastal Tamil Nadu during November 28th and 30th. Isolated areas may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema during November 29th and December 1st.

An alert for extremely heavy rainfall is issued for isolated areas over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Rayalaseema on November 30th. Isolated areas may experience heavy rainfall in Kerala and Mahe on November 28th and 29th. Heavy rainfall is also issued for south interior Karnataka on November 29th and 30th, and for Telangana on November 30th. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely in Tamil Nadu from November 28th to December 1st. Strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kilometers per hour will occur in Kerala and Mahe on November 28th and 29th, in northern interior Karnataka on November 30th, in southern interior Karnataka on November 29th and 30th, and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on November 28th.

Regarding cold conditions, temperatures dropped below six degrees Celsius in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Minimum temperatures ranged from 6-10 degrees Celsius in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as well as in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh. Some parts of northern Rajasthan, northern Uttar Pradesh, and eastern Madhya Pradesh recorded minimum temperatures between 6-10 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the lowest temperature in the plains was recorded in Naugaon, eastern Madhya Pradesh, at six and a half degrees Celsius.
