Cyclone Alert: Cyclonic storm is about to hit again, warning of heavy rain and storm issued

Cyclone Alert: According to reports, light to moderate rain was recorded in several districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the influence of this low pressure. Cyclone Alert: A low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is poised to intensify into a cyclonic storm. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the low pressure area over the Malacca Strait and the Andaman region is moving northwestward. It is expected to develop into a depression over the South Andaman Sea today. It is then expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm. IMD scientist Dr. Sanjeev Dwivedi said that the weather in Odisha will remain generally dry for the next seven days.

According to reports, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in several districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the influence of this low pressure area. Kanyakumari, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tenkasi, Tiruvarur districts, and the Karaikal region will experience light to moderate rainfall today. Traffic may be affected due to waterlogging and slippery roads at some places. In Puducherry, moderate rainfall occurred in several urban and rural areas, including Beach Road, New Bus Stand, Uppalam, Nellithope, and Kamraj Nagar.

IMD Continuously Monitoring

According to the Meteorological Department, this system may intensify into a depression and subsequently into a cyclonic storm today. The IMD is continuously monitoring the system. From November 25th to 29th, light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Isolated thunderstorms are possible. Winds will blow at speeds of 35 to 45 kilometers per hour along the Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar, and the Comorin region. Strong winds of up to 55 km/h are expected in some areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. Fishermen in the deep waters of the Bay of Bengal have been advised to return to shore by tomorrow morning.

Odisha’s coastal districts will experience rainfall

Due to the cyclonic storm, rainfall is expected in some coastal districts of Odisha between November 25 and 27, according to the India Meteorological Department. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari stated that the state government is on alert and fully prepared to deal with any situation arising from the threatened cyclone. He said, “We have taken advance preparations and additional measures so that the government machinery can easily handle the situation if it worsens.”
