After the employees and pensioners working under the 7th Central Pay Commission, now the DA of the employees working under the 5th and 6th Pay Commission has been increased.
6th/5th Pay Commission DA Hike: After the 7th Pay Commission, the Modi government at the Centre has now increased the dearness allowance of central employees availing the benefits of the 6th and 5th Pay Commission. Before Diwali, the central government has increased the DA of 6th Pay Commission employees by 5% and DA of 5th Pay Commission employees by 8%. The new rates will be applicable from July 2025, hence arrears for the months of July to September will also be given.
DA of these employees increased from 5 to 8%
The dearness allowance (DA) for employees receiving salaries under the Sixth Central Pay Commission has been increased by 5%, increasing the DA from 252% to 257%. The dearness allowance (DA) for employees receiving salaries under the Fifth Pay Commission has been increased by 8%, increasing the DA from 466% to 474%. The new rates will be implemented from July 2025, and arrears for July, August, and September will also be paid. It should be noted that some central health institutions and public sector undertakings currently remain where the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission have not been implemented. Employees working in these institutions are still receiving salaries according to the Fifth or Sixth Pay Commission pay structures, and this new order will directly benefit them.
7th Pay Commission: DA for employees has been increased by 3%
Recently, the Modi government at the Centre revised the rates of dearness allowance and dearness relief for central employees and pensioners covered under the 7th Pay Commission, increasing DA from 55% to 58%. The new rates have been implemented from July 1, 2025, and arrears for July, August, and September will also be paid. This benefit will accrue to 49.19 lakh employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners. This increase is in accordance with the approved formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. The increased DA will be paid in November along with the October salary.
